Over the past two years, Town residents, business owners, community organizations, stakeholders, elected officials, and staff have worked together to shape the vision and recommendations outlined in Kernersville’s new Comprehensive Plan.
After extensive community input and multiple rounds of review, the Board of Aldermen voted to adopt the Comprehensive Plan at their meeting on August 26, 2026.
The plan–which was last updated in 2014–aims to guide development into the next decade and beyond, preserving Kernersville’s small-town character while continuing economic development, improving connectivity to open space and transportation, and providing a broad range of housing options.
On behalf of the planning team, a sincere thank you to the entire Kernersville community for your participation in this process. Now it’s time for plan implementation to begin!
